             Narongrit Dharmabutra was inspired to compose “Pledge to HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana” by the poem of the same name written by Gongbhoap Ruensiri, an award winning contemporary poet. The piece is a musical tribute and a pledge to HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana, to follow her footsteps in fostering the development of artistic endeavors, particularly of classical music education as well as performances in Thailand.
             The form of this spectacular work is a combination of poem recitation, poem reading accompanied by orchestra and a song for solo voice and chorus with a full symphony orchestra. The poem used as lyrics reflects a deep feeling of reverence and gratitude towards the beloved Princess and her compassionate deeds for the Thai people as well as a pledge to follow in her footsteps.
